Ani's Mango and Chicken Spread

It's mind boggling that something so easy to whip up is one of our most-requested appetizers! A few years back, Mrs. P's aunt Ani made this Mango and Chicken Spread at a party she hosted and ever since then, we've been making it for our own parties at home. We also take it to other people's parties because we never go to a party empty-handed! Every time we make it, people go crazy for it and ask us what's in it. They can't believe how easy it is, and you won't either! We promise you that this will be one of those things people will remember you by. You will become that girl or guy who makes that delicious mango dip thing everyone loves!

Ingredients:
1 8 oz. package of cream cheese
1 13 oz. can of chicken breast in water
1 bottle of hot mango chutney
1 box of Wheat Thin crackers

Kitchen Essentials:
Can opener
Medium mixing bowl
2 forks
Plate or platter
Spatula

Prep:
Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature.

Directions:
Open the can of chicken and drain the water out. Pour the chicken chunks in a bowl and shred using two forks. Next, place the cream cheese in the bowl and mix the two ingredients until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated into each other.

Now place the mixture onto the middle of a plate or platter and begin to spread out into the shape you desire. We made an oval shape, but you could spread it out in a variety of shapes, depending on the platter. Finally, spread the hot mango chutney over the top and serve with Wheat Thin crackers.

  1. The spread looks super, Mrs. P. I didn't think I can find chicken breast in tin here, but I bet freshly poached chicken breast will work too.

    1. Hi there. Yes, you could substitute the canned chicken for boiled chicken breast, just make sure you chop it very finely so it incorportates well with the cream cheese. No, it actually is not spicy at all! We don't know why they label it that way! lol
