Cardamom Sugar Cookies

As if sugar cookies aren't good on their own, we have gone ahead and added one of our favorite spices to them. If you've never tried cardamon, you are missing out! The simple aroma and taste of this floral spice will satisfy your sweet tooth while comforting your soul. This is the ultimate comfort food cookie!

By the way, today marks the blog's third anniversary! It is hard to believe we have been sharing our recipes with others for three years now! To celebrate, we are making another batch of cardamon cookies and enjoying every bite!

Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
8 tablespoons of butter
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
4 tablespoons of milk
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Kitchen Essentials:

Refrigerator
Oven
KitchenAid Mixer or hand mixer
2 Mixing bowls

Cookie sheet
Parchment paper
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons

Whisk
Spatula
Cooling rack

Prep:

Take the butter, milk and egg out of the refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line the cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Directions:

Add the sugar and butter into a mixing bowl and mix with the paddle attachment on medium speed. Mix for 3 minutes until the sugar and butter are creamed.

Meanwhile in the other mixing bowl add the baking powder, baking soda, flour, cinnamon and cardamom and whisk for 30 seconds to evenly incorporate all the dry ingredients.

Next add the egg, milk and vanilla to the sugar and butter mixture. Mix on low for a minute.

Lastly add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl and mix on low speed for 2 minutes.

Spoon 1 tablespoon of the cookie dough to the parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Recipe will make about 36 cookies.
