Blood Orange Sparkle

They say that good things happen to those who wait. Well, Mr. P had been waiting and waiting and waiting for our market to sell blood oranges to make this drink. Finally, he found them when he least expected it - just in time for a friend's dinner party. If you are one of the lucky ones who have blood oranges available in your store, take advantage of this ultra-sweet fruit and make this lively cocktail. If you cannot find blood oranges, regular oranges will do.

(Makes one cocktail)

Ingredients:
1/3 cup of blood orange juice
2 tablespoons of triple sec
1 cup Verdi Sparkletini (If you cannot find this brand, use a 1 cup of a good Prosecco with 1 teaspoon of raspberry liquor)

Kitchen Essentials:
Cutting board
Knife
Small bowl
White wine glasses
Strainer
Measuring cups and spoons

Directions:

Cut the blood oranges in half. Place stainer over a small bowl and squeeze the juice into the strainer so that the seeds do not fall into the bowl. Place 1/3 cup of blood orange juice into the wine glass, then the triple sec and top of with the Verdi Sparkletini. Garnish with a blood orange wedge and enjoy!
