Oh how we miss O'Sheehan's on the Epic!

Let us begin by saying that you will forget that you are on a cruise ship when you step into O'Sheehan's (Deck 6, Mid) on the Epic. It feels as if you are at the "Cheer's" bar in Boston. The only difference is that there's a bowling alley in the pub and you can watch a movie or a game on a LED screen that's bigger than any we have ever seen before! There's also pool tables and air hockey tables. O'Sheehan's was our favorite places to people-watch on the vessel.

This Irish Pub has two other major perks: the food is included and it is open 24 hours. We had mozzarella sticks at 1 a.m. and the place was packed, but not to the point where you couldn't find a table. The service is a little slow, but it's not too bad. You're on vacation, you shouldn't be in a hurry anyway!

Here's a tip: If you want to really enjoy your breakfast and skip the lines at the buffet, have breakfast here. There are always tables available and you will have someone serving you instead of fighting the crowds. We did this once and wish we would have done it more often.

O'Sheehan's serves typical bar food - chicken fingers, burgers, spinach dip, fries, etc. and plenty of booze, which you need to pay for. We didn't drink anything at this bar, but everything we ate made our tummies very happy.

The spinach and artichoke dip was good, but not great. Mrs. P thought that her recipe was better. We will post that recipe soon!

Mr. P fell in love with the chicken fingers because the crust was so light and crispy. The chicken was so tender it would easily shred just by pulling them out of the basket, which by the way were super cute and creative. The mozzarella sticks were really good too. We met someone in the Ice Bar who said that he ate four orders all by himself one night! He was a character!

You can't go wrong with dessert on this ship! The brownie sundae and apple cobbler was delicious. They were the perfect ending to a perfect day on board the Epic!

  1. Loved O'Sheehan's too! My favorite was the mozarella sticks which we had when we first boarded and late that night because we liked them so much. Also really enjoyed the omelet. Only regret is there were so many options on board, we never really sampled much else there.

  2. I love the baskets the food is served in. Very cool. Looks like I will really be going off my Epic diet at this place! ;) Thanks for posting! :)

  3. YUMMMM...I cannot wait! I haven't had any fried food in months so I can look decent for this cruise. I am going to splurge at this place!

  4. Another great review and fab pics. Darren and I love hanging out playing pool and bowling, so to combine that with a place to chill, eat and people watch is just heaven :-)

  5. What do they have for breakfast there?

  6. They have omelets made to order, French toast, a variety of breads and croissants, corned beef hash, hash browns, yogurt, fruit, cereals, coffee and juices. Almost the entire selection you would get at the garden cafe but served to you. They even have a couple items for breakfast 24 hours a day
